Frequently Asked Questions for Web Designers

Have a question about web design? Check out some of our most frequently asked questions for web designers. This is not a full list, as we understand that each project’s details may vary. Also, prices can vary, as we follow a ‘Build-to-Suit’ model, in order to give clients what they need, and nothing you don’t. In the event that your question is not addressed below, please fill out the Contact Us form, and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

How long will it take to build the site?

A typical small business site takes 4 to 6 weeks of development, CMS sites about 6 to 8 weeks, and eCommerce sites can take 2 to 3 months or longer depending on their complexity. In reality we can complete the work in a faster timeframe, but we do not want to mislead our clients by promising them a timeframe that does not include time for client feedback and testing. Both of these elements are critical to launching a successful website that is designed to meet your business's needs, and should not be rushed.

How much will it cost?

Our small business sites start at $850, however it is difficult to discuss price without first gaining a complete understanding of the details of your project. Our sites are custom designed, which means we can only provide you with a quote after a free initial consultation to determine your web design needs. Please see our services page for a more complete breakdown of services, and call us to get a more detailed quote.

Do you outsource your design and development work to a third party?

Absolutely not. We do use offshore development to lower costs for you, but all of our offshore staff are full time, in-house MediaLinkers employees. Our clients work directly with our Atlanta project management staff that coordinates all aspects of the project and provides direct customer service. This allows our clients to take advantage of our extremely low development costs, while still having the full confidence of being able to call, email, or have a live meeting with a representative right here in Atlanta.

Can I use my own hosting provider?

Yes. We offer hosting and domain registration to our clients as a convenience, but you are free to choose any hosting service or domain registrar that you would like.

Will I be able to update the content on my finished site?

We do offer Content Management Solutions, which is what you will need if you would like the ability to update your site's content yourself.

Will I own the site when it is completed, including the source code?

Yes, upon project completion all source files are transferred to your ownership by a choice of delivery, most commonly by placing the site on your host's server.

What are some common items I must consider to have on my website?

Websites can have many customized programs to run on your website, however most common items you must consider are unique logo, contact us or quote form, photo gallery/portfolio, social media links, visitor tracker, downloadable forms, jobs and career form, and the list can go on. Please contact us for a free consultation in order to go over your specific needs.
